I’m a born-and-bred Texan, a former Texas real estate salesperson, and I’ve been self-employed since the 1900s. There’s a reason I’ve stayed that way for so long: I was the family caretaker, and being self-employed gave me the flexibility I needed to be there for the people who needed me. It wasn’t always the easiest path, but it was the right one for my family.
Over the years, I’ve worn a lot of hats and learned a lot about working with people, running a business, and figuring things out as I go. My background in real estate eventually led me to photography, where I get to combine my understanding of the industry with something I genuinely enjoy.
As a former real estate salesperson, I understand what happens after I deliver the photos. I know how buyers judge a listing online, how quickly they form an opinion, and how much good photography matters. That perspective shapes the way I photograph homes today.
I also photograph events, which is a completely different kind of photography and one I really enjoy. Real estate photography is about making a property look its absolute best. Event photography is about paying attention to what’s happening in front of you and catching the people, moments, and little interactions that might otherwise be missed. I like that it keeps me on my toes.
Outside of work, I’ve been married for three decades and I’m a mom to one, who I miss every single day. I’m also naturally supportive. I like helping people do well, and I tend to care about my clients and their businesses beyond simply showing up, taking pictures, and sending a gallery.
I’m a Texan through and through, I’ve been self-employed longer than some people have been alive, and I still like figuring out what’s next.
